31	31	AN ACT making an appropriation to the Desert Research Institute
32	32	of the Nevada System of Higher Education to support the
33	33	Nevada State Cloud Seeding Program; and providing
34	34	other matters properly relating thereto.
35	35	THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEVADA, REPRESENTED IN
36	36	SENATE AND ASSEMBLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

38	38	Section 1. 1. There is hereby appropriated from the State 1
39	39	General Fund to the Desert Research Institute of the Nevada System 2
40	40	of Higher Education to support the Nevada State Cloud Seeding 3
41	41	Program administered by the Desert Research Institute the following 4
42	42	sums: 5
43	43	For the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 .................................. $600,000 6
44	44	For the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 .................................. $600,000 7
45	45	2. The Desert Research Institute shall: 8
46	46	(a) Prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance 9
47	47	Committee on or before September 1, 2026, that describes each 10
48	48	expenditure made from the money appropriated by subsection 1 11
49	49	from the date on which the money was received by the Desert 12
50	50	Research Institute through June 30, 2026; and 13

55	55	(b) Prepare and transmit a report to the Interim Finance 1
56	56	Committee on or before September 1, 2027, that describes each 2
57	57	expenditure made from the money appropriated by subsection 1 3
58	58	from the date on which the money was received by the Desert 4
59	59	Research Institute through June 30, 2027. 5
60	60	Sec. 2. Any balance of the sums appropriated by section 1 6
61	61	remaining at the end of the respective fiscal years must not be 7
62	62	committed for expenditure after June 30 of the respective fiscal 8
63	63	years by the entity to which the appropriation is made or any 9
64	64	entity to which money from the appropriation is granted or 10
65	65	otherwise transferred in any manner, and any portion of the 11
66	66	appropriated money remaining must not be spent for any purpose 12
67	67	after September 18, 2026, and September 17, 2027, respectively, by 13
68	68	either the entity to which the money was appropriated or the entity 14
69	69	to which the money was subsequently granted or transferred, 15
70	70	and must be reverted to the State General Fund on or before 16
71	71	September 18, 2026, and September 17, 2027, respectively. 17
72	72	Sec. 3. This act becomes effective on July 1, 2025. 18
