Requires nursing homes to designate dedicated storage spaces for the storage of the bodies of deceased persons; requires nursing homes to develop and submit plans to the department of health for the designation of such dedicated storage spaces; establishes requirements for such storage spaces.
Increases the number of members on the public health and health planning council from twenty-five to twenty-six and requires one member represent hospice care providers.
Requires a health care provider who administers an immunization to a person nineteen years of age or older to report such information to the department of health or to a regional health information organization unless such person objects to such reporting.
Prohibits the public health and health planning council and the commissioner of health from approving the establishment, incorporation, construction, or increase in capacity of for-profit nursing homes.
Nullifies certain provisions which exempted certain contracts providing health related services from competitive bidding requirements; relates to enrollment broker and conflict-free evaluation services for the Medicaid program.
Makes technical, minor and coordinating amendments regarding health care agents and proxies, decisions under the family health care decisions act, and nonhospital orders not to resuscitate.
Requires Medicaid managed care plans to reimburse retail pharmacies in an amount equal to the fee-for-service rate; allows retail pharmacies the opportunity to participate in another provider's network under the medical assistance program; prohibits pharmacy benefit managers from limiting an individual's option to receive medications from non-mail order pharmacies.
Provides that, on an annual basis, at least 25% of the moneys deposited into the health care transformation fund shall be allocated exclusively for certain community-based health care providers.
