Provides residential and day services to certain individuals with a developmental disability where such services are provided by a certified integrated residential community program.
Requires the commissioner of health, in conjunction with the superintendent of financial services, to promulgate rules and regulations requiring that any increase in a bill from a hospital or health system or health care provider shall be sent to a patient no later than ninety days after the original bill was paid in full by such patient and good cause be shown for such increase, unless such increase is the result of any action by such patient.
Authorizes the attorney general to investigate and take action against in response to actions improvident or prejudicial to the interests of the public or occupants of nursing homes that are under the supervision of the commissioner of public health.
Makes technical, minor and coordinating amendments regarding health care agents and proxies, decisions under the family health care decisions act, and nonhospital orders not to resuscitate.
Relates to applying a special Medicaid rate for releasees in facilities or discrete units within facilities that provide long term nursing or medical services.
Requires practitioners who administer naloxone or another overdose reversal agent to a patient in the case of a suspected or confirmed overdose to report the administration of the agent to the prescription monitoring program registry.
Requires patient transporters to complete a state accredited basic life support course, in which knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation using automated external defibrillators and relieving airway obstructions is taught.
Relates to creating NYCHA-based health centers to provide basic health services for residents living on NYCHA campuses, specifically specialty care and testing for lead poisoning and mold exposure and specifically respiratory related illnesses.
Expands coverage for pregnant and postpartum individuals and their children; establishes a health expense account program for pregnant and postpartum individuals; requires the creation of informative pamphlets on maternal depression.
Relates to establishing a remote maternal health services pilot program for Medicaid recipients; provides that such program shall be established during fiscal years 2024-2025, 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 to provide: remote maternal health services to eligible Medicaid recipients, medically necessary remote maternal health services to such eligible recipients for up to 12 months postpartum and payment to healthcare providers who provide remote maternal health services.
Requires a verification organization to declare each service or item to be verified or unverified within thirty days of receiving all required supporting documentation from a participating provider.
Authorizes certain emergency medical technicians and paramedics to administer certain vaccines pursuant to non-patient specific orders and under the authority of an emergency medical services director after receiving appropriate training.
