Establishes liaison officers, regional contacts and campus contacts to assist college students experiencing homelessness to find housing; prioritizes access to housing; waives certain fees for students experiencing homelessness; establishes a pilot program to increase enrollment, attendance and success in college for students experiencing homelessness.
Requires the city university of New York and state university of New York have education programs for prospective teachers, administrators, and counselors for teaching immigrant-origin students that promotes diversity, equity and inclusion, and is multilingual.
Provides that certain persons who are not residents of the state but who have resided in the state for a certain period of time and meet certain criteria shall be eligible for in-state tuition rates.
Requires the submission of certain information by a dentist as part of such dentist's triennial registration to enable the department of health to evaluate access to needed services in the state.
Provides that a supervising licensed physical therapist shall be available for consultation with a physical therapist assistant in a timely manner; removes the on-site supervision requirement.
Enacts the health care professional transparency act; prohibits health care professionals from using deceptive or misleading advertising; establishes a public awareness campaign to improve transparency and understanding of information about health care practitioners.
Prohibits state funding of any degree-granting institution of higher education if such institution permits terrorist organizations or activities in support of such organizations on campus; prohibits any student group or organization of receiving funding from the degree-granting institution if such group or organization directly or indirectly promotes, encourages, advocates, or engages in any terrorist advocacy or activities on campus.
Directs the commissioner of education to conduct an audit regarding instruction in literacy instruction at institutions of higher education that offers a graduate or undergraduate degree or certification program in education or educational administration located within the state.
Authorizes the state university of New York at Stony Brook to lease certain lands on the Southampton campus to construct multi-purpose facilities to support housing needs and supporting amenities; requires compliance with certain state labor and contracting laws.
Enacts the "Nurse of Tomorrow Act" to provide for grants from the state commissioner of education to public and not-for-profit hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, schools and other entities for nurse recruitment, education and retention costs and activities as described herein.
Enables students to receive information from colleges and universities without disclosing their personally identifiable information via an opt-in system.
