Requires municipalities to test the quality of their public internet service including the average range, speed, effectiveness and security; requires each municipal corporation to annually post the results of such testing on its website and to include information on internet safety and security including how members of the public can protect themselves when using publicly available internet services.
Expands the training time for local municipalities in relation to the open meetings law; requires at least one hour of such training be provided by the committee on open government or an appropriate entity in relation to compliance with the open meetings law and if not provided, a justification shall be given.
Authorizes the assessor of the town of New Castle to accept an application for a real property tax exemption from the Ethical Society of Northern Westchester; provides a waiver for any interest and penalties accrued in the event that the authorization to exempt is not timely granted.
Authorizes the county of Cattaraugus assessor to accept an application for a real property tax exemption from Olean Community Theatre, Inc. for all of the 2021-2022 school taxes and all of the 2022 general taxes.
Authorizes the assessor of the town of Babylon to accept an application for exemption from real property taxes from Phoenix Houses of Long Island, Inc.
Authorizes the Calvary Tabernacle Church of God to file an application for exemption from real property taxes for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 assessment rolls.
Relates to requiring coverage for volunteer firefighters for full cancer screenings upon entry of service to a fire department or fire company and annually thereafter; provides that the costs of such screenings shall be covered by the state.
Authorizes the village of Greenwood Lake, county of Orange to allow golf carts on certain streets under the exclusive control and jurisdiction of such village.
Relates to protections for homeowners in the event of tax lien foreclosure; establishes notice and hearing requirements and a homeowners bill of rights.
