Relates to the eligibility of enrolled members of the East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue and Auxiliary Squad for the tax exemption on real property authorized by section 466-c of the real property tax law, as added by chapter 670 of the laws of 2002.
Relates to assessments of residential cooperative, condominium and rental property; defines the term "the assessment which would be placed upon such parcel were the parcel not owned or leased by a cooperative corporation or on a condominium basis".
Establishes a retired employee health insurance premium reserve fund for the town of Saranac to cover retired town employee health insurance premiums, to stabilize the tax rate, and to ensure transparency for the taxpayers and elected officials.
Requires counties and/or cities to establish a plan for providing legal counsel to persons who are defendants or respondents in eviction, ejectment and foreclosure proceedings and who are financially unable to obtain counsel; defines eligible person as one whose gross individual income is not in excess of one hundred twenty-five percent of the federal income official poverty line; requires the state to match dollar for dollar the amount counties appropriate for their plans.
Requires a municipality to give notice to an adjacent municipality of the adoption or amendment of certain zoning ordinances or local laws that affect parcels of land within 500 feet of the adjacent municipality.
Authorizes the assessor of the town of Islip, county of Suffolk, to accept an application for exemption from real property taxes from the East Islip Fire District with respect to a portion of the 2021-2022 assessment roll and the entire 2022-2023 assessment roll.
Establishes local labor requirements as part of the approval to receive a real property tax business investment exception; requires eighty-five percent of workers hired by a contractor or developer for a project to be from the same county or an adjoining county or, in certain circumstances, the state of New York.
Requires police officers to maintain liability insurance; excludes police officers from provisions requiring defense and indemnification of state officers and employees.
