Authorizes the town of Ramapo, in the county of Rockland, to levy a five percent hotel or motel tax upon persons occupying hotel or motel rooms in such town.
Authorizes the town of East Hampton to alienate and convey certain parcels of land used as parkland for the purpose of a Suffolk County roadway improvement project.
Relates to automatic orders in matrimonial actions; provides that in the event that the governor declares an emergency which results in issuance by the judiciary of an administrative order which prohibits the filing of the summons or the summons and verified complaint during the emergency, then the automatic orders shall be binding upon the plaintiff and the defendant immediately upon service of the summons upon defendant, but shall have no force and effect unless: the plaintiff purchases an index number for the action within twenty-one days of the date of service upon the defendant of the summons with notice or the summons and verified complaint; or plaintiff applies for poor person status within twenty-one days of the date of service on the defendant of the summons with notice or the summons and verified complaint, and, in the event that the application for poor person status is denied, the plaintiff pays an index number fee within one hundred twenty days after the date of a court order denying the plaintiff's application for waiver of the fee.
Renames the New York state musical instrument revolving fund to the New York state music grant fund; directs that monies of the fund shall be used to provide assistance for grants to not-for-profit symphony orchestras and/or other not-for-profit musical entities incorporated in the state and organized for the purpose of the presentation of performing arts for the benefit of the public; removes certain guidelines.
Requires certain documents and forms to be provided in the twelve most common non-English languages spoken by limited English proficient immigrants of five years or less according to the American community survey, as published by the United States census bureau.
Prohibits the purchase of ammunition if such purchaser failed a background check, is prohibited by federal law or is subject to a temporary or extreme risk protection order issued pursuant to article sixty-three-A of the civil practice law and rules.
Authorizes the city of Mt. Vernon to establish a school speed zone demonstration program; authorizes installation in no more than twenty school speed zones in such city.
Directs that statewide resources and information relating to safe storage of firearms, child access prevention and firearm violence prevention and information on county and local specific laws and regulations related to child access prevention and the safe storage of firearms shall be provided to individuals at the time of issuance of a firearm license; directs the commissioner of the division of criminal justice services to develop and implement a public awareness campaign on the safe storage of firearms, rifles and shotguns and child access and prevention.
