Relates to requiring businesses to provide to the division of consumer protection a telephone number at which such business may be contacted for the submission of consumer complaints; authorizes such division to create a registry of such telephone numbers.
Relates to incarcerated individuals wages; provides that incarcerated individuals shall be compensated at a base rate of $1.20 to $10 per day and shall be given biannual raises for adequate performance; provides that incarcerated individuals not participating in a work or program assignment due to age or frailty shall be paid $1.00 per day, adjusted every 5 years for cost of living.
Requires physicians and hospitals to obtain the name of the school attended by school-aged patients and to include this information in their admission registration forms.
Relates to directing the department of motor vehicles to issue New York drivers' licenses to individuals holding a valid or recently expired driver's license from certain Caribbean countries.
Limits the circumstances which justify the use of deadly force by a police officer or peace officer to instances when the person committed a felony that threatened or resulted in death or serious bodily injury and the officer reasonably believes that the person will cause death or serious bodily injury to another person unless immediately apprehended.
Relates to the issuance of arrest warrants and appearance tickets upon a youth; provides for the police officer to immediately notify the parent or other person legally responsible for the care of such youth with whom the youth is domiciled that the youth has been arrested; provides further that the police officer need not notify the parent or other person legally responsible when such youth is not also a juvenile offender and the notification would endanger the health and safety of such youth.
Provides that the police commissioner of the city of New York and all other cities with a population of one hundred thousand or more shall be an elected office with a four-year term; provides that such office shall be subject to term limits of two terms.
