ROZIC -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the age requirement for voting in a primary election The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 5-102 of the election law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 3 to read as follows: 3 3. The provisions herein with respect to the age requirement for 4 purposes of qualifying to vote shall not prohibit United States citizens 5 otherwise qualified, who are seventeen years of age, from voting in a 6 primary election, including a presidential primary, if such citizen will 7 be eighteen years of age by the date of the corresponding general 8 election. 9 § 2.
