Requires continuing teacher and leader education to include courses, programs and activities related to immigrant focused trauma-informed practices to support students who are dealing with adverse childhood or adolescent experiences as a result of immigration status.
Increases the number of hours of continuing education required for hearing aid dealers that may be taken on the internet or through correspondence courses from three continuing education units to seven units. (8/1/19)
Allows up to seven excess continuing education credit hours for real estate brokers and real estate salespersons to be carried forward to the next two-year licensing period.
Provides for the establishment of residential home safety and loss prevention courses certified by the superintendent of financial services; requires insurers to provide actuarially appropriate discounts on fire and homeowners insurance premiums to those homeowners who have completed a residential home safety and loss prevention course; directs the superintendent of financial services to promulgate such rules and regulations as are necessary to implement such program and specifies certain matters which must be included in such rules and regulations; requires the superintendent of financial services to issue a report thereon.
