BRABENEC -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Transportation AN ACT in relation to permitting certain municipalities to receive reimbursement from the state for law enforcement activities on water- ways within their jurisdiction The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 79-b of the navi- 2 gation law, any municipality in a county whose population is between 3 390,000 and 425,000 inhabitants, and whose police department patrols a 4 waterway within the jurisdiction of such municipality, shall be eligible 5 to apply for reimbursement for expenses incurred in the enforcement of 6 the applicable provisions of the navigation law regardless of whether 7 the county has filed an application for reimbursement; provided that the 8 total amount reimbursed to the municipality and the county shall not 9 exceed the maximum reimbursement as set forth in such section 79-b, as 10 determined by the department of parks, recreation and historic preserva- 11 tion. 12 § 2.
