GRAY, BLANKENBUSH, DeSTEFANO, GALLAHAN, SMULLEN, McDONOUGH, LEMONDES -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation -- recommitted to the Committee on Transportation in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said commit- tee AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Michael J. Finerson Memorial Bridge" The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-p to 2 read as follows: 3 § 344-p. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the 4 "Michael J. Finerson Memorial Bridge". All that portion of the state 5 highway system constituting the bridge over the Chaumont River on state 6 route 12E in the village of Chaumont, county of Jefferson, shall be 7 designated and known as the "Michael J. Finerson Memorial Bridge". 8 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 10 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid 11 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- 12 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of 13 ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge shall not be 14 changed as a result of this act. 15 § 3.
