 Senate Resolution No. 664 BY: Senator STEWART-COUSINS CELEBRATING the life and accomplishments of Robert G. Wasiczko, distinguished citizen, family man, and devoted member of his community WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to convey its grateful appreciation and heartfelt regret in recognition of the loss of a generous and inspiring individual, who touched the lives of many; and WHEREAS, It is with profound sadness that this Legislative Body records the passing of Robert G. Wasiczko of Yonkers, New York, who died on Saturday, March 25, 2023; and WHEREAS, There are certain outstanding members of our community who, through their selfless commitment and dedication, have served to better the quality of life in our community and have had a measurable positive impact on the lives of its residents; Robert G. Wasiczko was one such individual; and WHEREAS, Robert G. Wasiczko proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines in Hawaii during World War II; and WHEREAS, With a steadfast and unwavering commitment to his fellow veterans and the community at large, Robert G. Wasiczko was an active member of the American Legion and VFW Post No. 375, where he held many esteemed titles and positions of leadership throughout the years; and WHEREAS, Robert G. Wasiczko was the beloved husband of Margaret, and the loving father of Robert John (Galina), Catherine (Joseph, Jr.) Mackus and Thomas Wasiczko; and WHEREAS, Robert G. Wasiczko adored and cherished his grandchildren, Cathy-Jo (Eric) Hoey, Joseph A. III (Stephanie) Mackus, Lauren (Wayne) Lair and Michael (Morgan) Wasiczko, as well as his great-grandchildren, Jillian Hoey, Riley Mackus, Penelope Mackus, Victoria Lair, Alexandra Lair, Colby Wasiczko and Jessa Wasiczko; and WHEREAS, Robert G. Wasiczko leaves behind a legacy of humor, generosity, positivity, and hard work that will long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he served and befriended; he will be deeply missed and truly merits the tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Robert G. Wasiczko, and to express its deepest condolences to his family; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the family of Robert G. Wasiczko.
