Senate Resolution No. 2361 BY: Senator GRIFFO COMMEMORATING the 130th Anniversary of Morehouse Appliances of New Hartford, New York WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the achievements of those individuals and businesses that contribute substantially to the economic vitality of their communities, thereby enhancing economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commemorate the 130th Anniversary of Morehouse Appliances of New Hartford, New York, celebrated in-store with exciting giveaways, tasty refreshments, and engaging demos; and WHEREAS, Morehouse Appliances was originally founded as H.D. Morehouse in 1894 in Utica by Henry D. Morehouse; with a great sense of familial pride and service to the family's community, the store is now run by Dan Morehouse, the great-grandson of founder, Henry Morehouse; and WHEREAS, The first Morehouse made a business of making and selling horseshoes many decades ago and has adapted to the ever-changing times; Morehouse Appliances, as we know it today, celebrates 130 years of innovation; and WHEREAS, This business consistently has, and continues to offer stellar customer service, dependability, expansive knowledge, and offerings of the best quality appliances on the market; and WHEREAS, A credit to the trust and reliability this accredited business has created with residents of their community and beyond, Morehouse Appliances is one of the longest Maytag dealerships in the entire United States; and WHEREAS, The success of Morehouse Appliances is in direct correlation to the efforts of its hardworking and dedicated staff, all of whom are considered integral parts of the success of the business; their involvement is, and always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the business and the community it serves; and WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowledges this exceptional business, its contributions to the local and state economies, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of life in its community, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to commemorate the 130th Anniversary of Morehouse Appliances of New Hartford, New York; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Morehouse Appliances.
