Senate Resolution No. 2369 BY: Senator PARKER HONORING the Youth Auxiliary Group of Al Tabari Court No. 28 upon the occasion of receiving the Excellence in the Community Award by the Schenectady City Council on June 24, 2024 WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend and pay tribute to those young people who, by demonstrating outstanding commitment to their community, have inspired, and brought pride to our majestic Empire State; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the Youth Auxiliary Group of Al Tabari Court No. 28 upon the occasion of receiving the Excellence in the Community Award by the Schenectady City Council on Monday, June 24, 2024; and WHEREAS, Under the direction and Guidance of Past Illustrious Commandress Desiree M. Mason-Chaires, Past Illustrious Commandress Monique King-Banks, and United States Marine Michael P. Borowski, the Al Tabari Court youth group has traveled the country successfully representing New York in nationally recognized competitions; and WHEREAS, Al Tabari Court No. 28's Youth Auxiliary Group is also being recognized by the Schenectady NAACP for a decade of youth community service; and WHEREAS, The women of the Youth Auxiliary Group of Al Tabari Court No. 28 have had the privileged opportunity to serve both their community and communities across the nation, demonstrating what it means to act with poise, intelligence, strength, and outstanding moral character in all their civic and charitable endeavors, justly earning them this esteemed recognition; and WHEREAS, Their Illustrious Commandress Dt. Tawonna Williams-Holbrook, also affectionately recognized as "Strawberri" amongst Nobles and Daughters, has shown her continued commitment and support in providing the youth group with whatever is needed to aid in their success in concert with the men of Al Tabari Temple No. 121, who also provide support, volunteer time, and provide academic scholarships to community youth; the Youth Auxiliary has delivered multiple generations of youth members into higher education, career jobs, and business ownership; and WHEREAS, The Youth Auxiliary Group of Al Tabari Court No. 28 represents the best development of the potential which is inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor the Youth Auxiliary Group of Al Tabari Court No. 28 upon the occasion of receiving the Excellence in the Community Award by the Schenectady City Council on June 24, 2024; and RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the Youth Auxiliary Group of Al Tabari Court No. 28.
