 Senate Resolution No. 2407 BY: Senator MAYER HONORING Maria Gaudelli upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of distinguished service to Saint Gregory the Great School WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Maria Gaudelli upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of distinguished service to Saint Gregory the Great School, to be celebrated on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the Harrison Meadows Country Club in Harrison, New York; and WHEREAS, Serving as a fixture in the Harrison community for over 45 years, Maria Gaudelli began her career as a teacher at the St. Gregory the Great School; she rose through the ranks to eventually become principle; and WHEREAS, In addition to her role as principal of St. Gregory the Great School, Maria Gaudelli became the Director of Religious Education; and WHEREAS, Committed to instilling a strong educational base and a sense of faith in youth of the community, Maria Gaudelli saw a need in the community for an early childhood program and started the preschool program with one mixed 3-and 4-year-old class and expanded the program to 9 classes; she has exposed the children to not only social and academic experiences but also cooking, sports, music, science, and dance programs; and WHEREAS, Devoted to Harrison, New York, Maria Gaudelli marched in the "Great to Live in Harrison" parade, worked at the White Elephant sale, and also chaired the yearly carnival that brought together families from all over; and WHEREAS, In her capacity as Director of Pre School and Religious Education, Maria Gaudelli served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and WHEREAS, In her official acts, Maria Gaudelli was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and WHEREAS, During her tenure with Saint Gregory the Great School, Maria Gaudelli earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Maria Gaudelli upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of distinguished service to Saint Gregory the Great School; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Maria Gaudelli.
