Senate Resolution No. 2627 BY: Senator GRIFFO CONGRATULATING Charles R. Gibbs II, Senior Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, upon the occasion of his retirement after more than 16 years of distinguished service to New York Power Authority WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the significant milestones in the distinguished careers of esteemed residents of this noble Empire State; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Charles R. Gibbs II, Senior Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, upon the occasion of his retirement after more than 16 years of distinguished service to New York Power Authority on Thursday, May 23, 2024; and WHEREAS, Charles R. Gibbs II attended Whitesboro Central School and Mohawk Valley Community College where he obtained his Associate of Applied Science in Business Accounting degree in 1982; and WHEREAS, From December of 2007 until his retirement, Charles R. Gibbs II served as Senior Buildings and Grounds Supervisor at New York Power Authority's Clark Energy Center in Marcy, New York; and WHEREAS, For 24 years, from 1991-2015, Charles R. Gibbs II served his community as Town Supervisor and Councilperson for the Town of Whitestown, New York; currently, he is still the elected Trustee for the Village of Whitesboro; and WHEREAS, Active in his community, Charles R. Gibbs II has spent more than 22 years, beginning in April of 2002, volunteering his time with the Whitesboro Fire Department; he has dedicated many years to the service of the residents of the Whitesboro region and should be applauded for this endeavor; and WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that, when individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of the great State of New York; and WHEREAS, Rare, indeed, is the occurrence of such a compassionate blending of strength and commitment as that demonstrated by Charles R. Gibbs II over a lifetime of sacrifice and dedication to others; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to congratulate Charles R. Gibbs II, Senior Buildings and Grounds Supervisor, upon the occasion of his retirement after more than 16 years of distinguished service to New York Power Authority, and to wish him well in all his future endeavors; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Charles R. Gibbs II.
