MAYER, BRISPORT, HARCKHAM, HOYLMAN-SIGAL, RAMOS, SALAZAR -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to revision to charter schools The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 7 of section 2852 of the education law is 2 amended by adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows: 3 (c) Beginning with proposed revisions submitted to a charter entity 4 after June first, two thousand twenty-three, a charter school may not 5 submit a revision to a charter that would expand the grades served that 6 would cause the school to serve grades levels in more than one of the 7 following school classifications; elementary school, intermediate 8 school, middle school, junior high school, or high school as defined in 9 the regulations of the commissioner. 10 § 2.
