Establishes the first of April as the annual reporting deadline for the basic educational data system (BEDS); imposes some additional requirements for calculating and reporting a school's student population.
Directs the president of the state civil service commission to conduct a study on job vacancies across state agencies and determine which, if any, state agencies are understaffed.
Ensures that boards of elections provide adequate notice to each voter before and after a board cancels the voter's registration or places such voter in inactive status.
Establishes a local authorities searchable subsidy and economic development benefits database; relates to the obligations of certain industrial development agencies and local development corporations.
Establishes a code of ethics for all board of election employees so that no employee of a board of election should have any interest, financial or otherwise, direct or indirect, or engage in any business or transaction or professional activity or incur any obligation of any nature, which is in substantial conflict with the proper discharge of their duties in the public interest.
Authorizes the county of Nassau assessor to accept an application for a real property tax exemption from Gurdwara Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib, Inc. for all of the 2023 general taxes and all of the 2022-2023 school taxes.
Establishes that any person who knowingly engages in a repeated course of cyberbullying of a minor is guilty of an unclassified misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars, or by a period of imprisonment not to exceed one year, or both.
Mandates the use of advanced safety technology in vehicles in the state; requires the commissioner of motor vehicles to promulgate certain rules and regulations.
Permits certain licensed athletic trainers who are licensed to practice in another state, territory or country to provide athletic training services to athletes and team personnel at a discrete sanctioned team sporting event or performance in this state.
Provides that any school district may establish a reserve fund for the payment of unanticipated costs related to pupil transportation in excess of public funds apportioned to districts for such purposes.
Prohibits the purchase of glyphosate by any state department, agency, public benefit corporation or any pesticide applicator employed thereby as a contractor or subcontractor and the application of glyphosate on property owned, operated or leased by the state.
