ZACCARO -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Children and Families -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the social services law and the public health law, in relation to requiring all employees of a child day care to be trained in administering an opioid antagonist The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 390-a of the social services law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 6 to read as follows: 3 6. a. Every employee of a family day care home, group family day care 4 home, school-age child care program and child day care center shall 5 receive training in the administration of an opioid antagonist pursuant 6 to a program approved under section thirty-three hundred nine of the 7 public health law. 8 b. Every child day care center, family day care home, group family day 9 care home and school-age child care program shall stock at least one 10 opioid antagonist as defined in section thirty-three hundred nine of the 11 public health law. 12 § 2. Subparagraph (v) of paragraph (a) of subdivision 3 of section 13 3309 of the public health law, as added by chapter 148 of the laws of 14 2020, is amended to read as follows: 15 (v) As used in this section, "entity" includes, but is not limited to, 16 a school district, public library, board of cooperative educational 17 services, county vocational education and extension board, charter 18 school, non-public elementary or secondary school, child day care 19 center, family day care home, group family day care home, school-age 20 child care program, restaurant, bar, retail store, shopping mall, barber 21 shop, beauty parlor, theater, sporting or event center, inn, hotel or 22 motel. 23 § 3. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after 24 it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
