BROWN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Housing AN ACT to amend the private housing finance law, in relation to requir- ing five percent of affordable housing units to be offered to veterans The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The private housing finance law is amended by adding a new 2 section 602-a to read as follows: 3 § 602-a. Housing for veterans. All companies, corporations, and 4 programs subject to the provisions of this chapter shall offer, at a 5 minimum, five percent of affordable housing units built by such compa- 6 nies corporations and programs to veterans, as such term is defined 7 pursuant to section eighty-five of the civil service law. 8 § 2.
