Section 753-e of the general business law, as added by 2 chapter 272 of the laws of 2018, is amended to read as follows: 3 § 753-e. Prohibited contracts. No contract for the purchase of a dog 4 or a cat or the financing of such purchase shall include any provisions 5 which authorize the use of a dog or a cat as security where such dog or 6 cat may be repossessed by the seller or lender contingent on the 7 purchaser making payments under such contract. Provided, however, noth- 8 ing in this section shall prohibit the purchase of a dog or cat through 9 an unsecured personal loan, nor be construed to limit the enforcement of 10 other provisions of this article, article [<B><S>twenty-six-a</S></B>] <B><U>twenty-six-A</U></B> of 11 the agriculture and markets law or other rights or remedies which are 12 otherwise available to all parties under any other law. <B><U>The provisions</U></B> 13 <B><U>of this section shall also apply to the sale of a dog or cat through an</U></B> 14 <B><U>online website.</U></B> 15 § 2.
