SANTABARBARA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Correction AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to the use of profits from commissaries or canteens in county correctional facilities The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The correction law is amended by adding a new section 500-q 2 to read as follows: 3 § 500-q. Use of profits from commissaries or canteens. Notwithstand- 4 ing any other provision of law, moneys received by the head of a county 5 correctional facility as profits from the sales of the commissary or 6 canteen shall be deposited in a special fund to be known as the commis- 7 sary or canteen fund and such funds shall be used for the general 8 purposes of the institution. 9 § 2.
