SANTABARBARA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to providing a transfer on death option for vehicle registrations The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The vehicle and traffic law is amended by adding a new 2 section 401-c to read as follows: 3 § 401-c. Transfer on death registration. 1. At the request of the 4 owner, the certificate of title may contain, by attachment, a transfer 5 on death provision where the owner may designate a beneficiary of the 6 vehicle. 7 2. The commissioner shall create a form to accomplish the purposes of 8 subdivision one of this section. 9 § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall 10 have become a law.
