BROWN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring all commer- cial buildings be retrofitted with motion detectors for controlling lighting The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 378 of the executive law is amended by adding a new 2 subdivision 21 to read as follows: 3 21. Standards requiring that all commercial buildings exclusively use 4 motion detectors for controlling lighting. All commercial buildings 5 shall complete any retrofitting required to meet such standards on or 6 before one year after the effective date of this subdivision. 7 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. Effective immediately, 8 the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation neces- 9 sary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are 10 authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
