KELLES, LEVENBERG, KIM, WOERNER, EPSTEIN, GIBBS, RAGA, FORREST -- read once and referred to the Committee on Correction AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to establishing a uniform electronic medical records system for correctional facilities The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The correction law is amended by adding a new section 144 2 to read as follows: 3 § 144. Uniform electronic medical records. 1. The commissioner, in 4 consultation with the commissioner of health and the commissioner of 5 mental health, shall develop a uniform electronic medical records system 6 to be utilized by all correctional facilities in the state. 7 2. The commissioner shall promulgate rules and regulations necessary 8 for the implementation of this section. 9 § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after 10 it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amend- 11 ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen- 12 tation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and 13 completed on or before such effective date.
