<PRE WIDTH="200"> Assembly Resolution No. 407 <B>BY:</B> M. of A. Epstein <B>HONORING</B> Detective Geneva Reid upon the occasion of her retirement after over a decade of distinguished service to the New York Police Department <B>WHEREAS,</B> This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and <B>WHEREAS,</B> For over a decade, Geneva Reid rendered faithful, conscientious and valuable service to the New York Police Department; and <B>WHEREAS,</B> In her capacity as a Detective, Geneva Reid served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and <B>WHEREAS,</B> As a proud, born and raised New Yorker, Geneva Reid recognized the importance of community and respect, and was known by many in her community as a reliable, joyful, and helpful presence, both in and out of uniform; and <B>WHEREAS,</B> Geneva Reid spent time serving with the Manhattan South Community Affairs Section - Police Service Area 4 before joining Housing Community Affairs in August of 2023; and <B>WHEREAS,</B> Community relations was important to Geneva Reid, and she served as a liaison to the New York Police Department, New York Community Housing Affairs residents, and the East Village Community, successfully bridging the communication gap between these groups; and <B>WHEREAS,</B> In her official acts, Geneva Reid was governed by a keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and <B>WHEREAS,</B> During her tenure with the New York Police Department, Geneva Reid earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; now, therefore, be it <B>RESOLVED,</B> That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to honor Detective Geneva Reid upon the occasion of her retirement after over a decade of distinguished service; and be it further <B>RESOLVED,</B> That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Detective Geneva Reid.
