A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring the Kent State University Tuscarawas women’s
volleyball team on winning the 2024 USCAA Division
2 National Championship title.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Kent State
University Tuscarawas women’s volleyball team as the 2024 United
States Collegiate Athletic Association Division 2 National Champion;
and
WHEREAS, The members of the Kent State University Tuscarawas
women’s volleyball team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown
themselves to be truly exceptional competitors. Indeed, the Golden
Eagles won the first USCAA Division 2 National Championship crown in
program history when they defeated Penn State University Hazleton in
three sets, and the unwavering commitment of the players and coaches
has earned them the esteem of many. They are certainly deserving of
high praise; and
WHEREAS, Coach Cortney Goodwin has demonstrated remarkable energy,
enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Kent State University
Tuscarawas women’s volleyball team to victory, and her skill is
reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to
her tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on the
court, and she has received respect and admiration from all who know
her; and
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and
the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the

Kent State University Tuscarawas women’s volleyball team have gained
discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of
their lives; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay
tribute to the Kent State University Tuscarawas women’s volleyball
team as the 2024 USCAA Division 2 National Champion and honor all
those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Kent State
University Tuscarawas women’s volleyball team.
