A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring the Upper Arlington High School girls
swimming and diving team on earning the 2025
Division I State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Upper Arlington
High School girls swimming and diving team as the 2025 Division I
State Champion; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Upper Arlington High School girls
swimming and diving team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown
themselves to be truly exceptional competitors. The Golden Bears
compiled an impressive 263.5 points to win this year’s Division I
State Championship, their second consecutive and fourteenth overall
state crown. The unwavering commitment of the swimmers, divers, and
coaches has earned them the esteem of many, and they are certainly
deserving of high praise; and
WHEREAS, The coaching staff, which includes girls swimming coach,
John Sands, and girls diving coach, Ryan Wilson, has demonstrated
remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Upper
Arlington High School girls swimming and diving team to victory, and
their skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments.
Due largely to their tireless efforts, the coaches have distinguished
themselves in competition, and they have received respect and
admiration from all who know them; and
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and
the rewards of individual and group effort, participation in athletics
has become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of

the Upper Arlington High School girls swimming and diving team have
gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects
of their lives; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay
tribute to the Upper Arlington High School girls swimming and diving
team as the 2025 Division I State Champion and honor all those who
contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Upper Arlington
High School girls swimming and diving team.
