No. 47 2025-2026 Representative Russo A R E S O L U T I O N Honoring Carrie Furbee on winning the 2025 Division II State Championship in the 100-yard butterfly. WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Carrie Furbee as the 2025 Division II State Champion in the 100-yard butterfly; and WHEREAS, A senior at Grandview Heights High School, Carrie Furbee has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in swimming, and as a result, she won this year’s Division II State Championship in the 100-yard butterfly with a state-record time of 53.36 seconds; and WHEREAS, Carrie Furbee’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the appreciation and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of acknowledgement; and WHEREAS, With sports contributing to the development of countless youth, we are happy to pay tribute to such a fine athlete as Carrie Furbee.
