A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring the Upper Arlington High School ice hockey
team on winning the 2025 OHSAA State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to salute the Upper Arlington
High School ice hockey team as the 2025 Ohio High School Athletic
Association State Champion; and
WHEREAS, Establishing a reputation for its skill and tenacity, the
Upper Arlington High School ice hockey team is an impressive group of
athletes whose talent and teamwork are unmatched. At the 2025 State
Championship final, the squad bested St. Ignatius 5-2 to win the
program’s first state title in nearly fifty years, and this victory
will be celebrated for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Upper Arlington High School ice hockey
team rose to the occasion and proved themselves to be a dynamic force
in high school sports. Truly, these outstanding athletes can be proud
of the accomplishments that were hard-won and deserved throughout the
season; and
WHEREAS, By remaining faithful to the highest standards of
sportsmanship and teamwork, the members of the Upper Arlington High
School ice hockey team have primed themselves under the guidance of
Coach Craig Hagkull and his team of assistant coaches to reach their
full potential. Indeed, the Golden Bears have demonstrated remarkable
energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in all of their endeavors;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,
recognize the Upper Arlington High School ice hockey team on its

historic success and honor the athletes and coaches for their
tremendous prowess; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Upper Arlington
High School ice hockey team.
