A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Hayden Hollingsworth on securing a 2025
Division I State Swim Championship title.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Hayden
Hollingsworth on placing first in the 50-yard freestyle event at the
2025 Division I State Swim Meet; and
WHEREAS, Hayden Hollingsworth is deserving of this prestigious
honor, a tribute to the remarkable athletic gifts and indomitable
spirit that she has so amply displayed as a senior member of the Upper
Arlington High School girls swim team. A tenacious competitor, she
could always be counted on to shine, and at this year’s Division I
State Meet, she placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of
22.75, her third consecutive such crown in this event, and second in
the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.82. In addition, she helped
the 200-yard medley and freestyle relay teams finish first with times
of 1:41.72 and 1:33.98, respectively, and understandably, the
strength, agility, stamina, and skill that she has exhibited have
earned her many admirers; and
WHEREAS, Hayden Hollingsworth has conscientiously applied herself
to the quest for excellence as an athlete, training and practicing
diligently in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, she
has risen to the occasion, maintaining her morale, composure, and good
sportsmanship, and she has gained the respect of even her most
determined rivals. Clearly, her enthusiastic involvement in swimming
has enabled her to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and
leadership, and in the process, her exceptional prowess has made her
family and friends very proud; and
WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of individual and team

accomplishment more than swimming, and athletes such as Hayden
Hollingsworth exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any
sport, including discipline, conditioning, and focus. Indeed,
throughout long hours of competition, she has consistently
demonstrated the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a
true champion; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Hayden
Hollingsworth for outstanding athletic achievement and applaud her as
an outstanding Ohioan; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Hayden Hollingsworth.
