5552 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5653 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2011, Sect ion 2053, as
5754 last amended by Section 1, Chapter 466, O.S.L. 2019 (59 O.S. Supp.
5855 2020, Section 2053), is amended to read as follows:
5956 Section 2053. A. There is hereby re -created until July 1, 2021
6057 2024, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sun set Law,
6158 the State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists. The Board shall
6259 administer the provisions of the Oklahoma Licensed Perfusionists
6360 Act. The Board shall consist of nine (9) members, appointed by the
6461 State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
62+B. The initial appointments for each member shall be for
63+progressive terms of one (1) through three (3) years so that only

92-B. The initial appointments for each member shall be for
93-progressive terms of one (1) through three (3) years so that only
9490 one term expires each calendar year; subsequent appointments shall
9591 be for five-year terms. Members of the Board shall serve at the
9692 pleasure of and may be removed from office by the appointing
9793 authority. No member shall serve more than three consecutive terms.
9894 Members shall continue to serve until their successors are
9995 appointed. Any vacancy shall be filled in the same manner as the
10096 original appointments. Five members shall constitute a quorum.
10197 C. The Board shall be composed as follows:
10298 1. Three members shall be members of the general public;
10399 2. Four members shall be licensed perfusionists appointed from
104100 a list of not less than te n licensed perfusionists submitted by a
105101 statewide organization representing licensed perfusionists; and
106102 3. Two members shall be physicians licensed pursuant to the
107103 Oklahoma Allopathic Medical and Surgical Licensure and Supervision
108104 Act and who are also boa rd certified in cardiovascular surgery.
109105 D. The licensed perfusionist members shall have been engaged in
110106 rendering perfusion services to the public, teaching perfusion care,
111107 or research in perfusion care, for at least five (5) years
112108 immediately preceding t heir appointments. These members shall at
113109 all times be holders of valid licenses for the practice of perfusion
114110 in this state, except for the members first appointed to the Board.
115111 These initial members shall, at the time of appointment, be
112+credentialed as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) conferred by
113+the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or its

143-credentialed as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) conferred by
144-the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or its
145140 successor organization, and all shall fulfill the requirements for
146141 licensure pursuant to the Oklahoma Licensed Perfusionists Act. All
147142 members of the Board shall be residents of this state.
148143 E. Upon expiration or vacancy of the term of a member, the
149144 respective nominating authority may, as appropriate, submit to the
150145 appointing authority a list of not less than three persons qualified
151146 to serve on the Board to fill the expired term of their respective
152147 member. Appointments may be made from these lists by the appointing
153148 authority and additional lists may be provided by the respective
154149 organizations if requested by the appointing authority.
155150 F. It shall be a ground for removal from the Board if a member:
156151 1. Does not have at the time of appointment the qualifications
157152 required for appointment to the Board;
158153 2. Does not maintain during service on the Board the
159154 qualifications required for appointment to t he Board;
160155 3. Violates a prohibition established pursuant to the Oklahoma
161156 Licensed Perfusionists Act;
162157 4. Cannot discharge the member 's term for a substantial part of
163158 the term for which the member is appointed because of illness or
164159 disability; or
165160 5. Is absent from more than half of the regularly scheduled
166161 board meetings that the member is eligible to attend during a
162+calendar year unless the absence is excused by a majority vote of
163+the Board.
