55	52		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
56	53		SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 59 O.S. 2011, Sect ion 2053, as
57	54		last amended by Section 1, Chapter 466, O.S.L. 2019 (59 O.S. Supp.
58	55		2020, Section 2053), is amended to read as follows:
59	56		Section 2053. A. There is hereby re -created until July 1, 2021
60	57		2024, in accordance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Sun set Law,
61	58		the State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists. The Board shall
62	59		administer the provisions of the Oklahoma Licensed Perfusionists
63	60		Act. The Board shall consist of nine (9) members, appointed by the
64	61		State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
	62	+	B. The initial appointments for each member shall be for
	63	+	progressive terms of one (1) through three (3) years so that only

92		-	B. The initial appointments for each member shall be for
93		-	progressive terms of one (1) through three (3) years so that only
94	90		one term expires each calendar year; subsequent appointments shall
95	91		be for five-year terms. Members of the Board shall serve at the
96	92		pleasure of and may be removed from office by the appointing
97	93		authority. No member shall serve more than three consecutive terms.
98	94		Members shall continue to serve until their successors are
99	95		appointed. Any vacancy shall be filled in the same manner as the
100	96		original appointments. Five members shall constitute a quorum.
101	97		C. The Board shall be composed as follows:
102	98		1. Three members shall be members of the general public;
103	99		2. Four members shall be licensed perfusionists appointed from
104	100		a list of not less than te n licensed perfusionists submitted by a
105	101		statewide organization representing licensed perfusionists; and
106	102		3. Two members shall be physicians licensed pursuant to the
107	103		Oklahoma Allopathic Medical and Surgical Licensure and Supervision
108	104		Act and who are also boa rd certified in cardiovascular surgery.
109	105		D. The licensed perfusionist members shall have been engaged in
110	106		rendering perfusion services to the public, teaching perfusion care,
111	107		or research in perfusion care, for at least five (5) years
112	108		immediately preceding t heir appointments. These members shall at
113	109		all times be holders of valid licenses for the practice of perfusion
114	110		in this state, except for the members first appointed to the Board.
115	111		These initial members shall, at the time of appointment, be
	112	+	credentialed as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) conferred by
	113	+	the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or its

143		-	credentialed as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) conferred by
144		-	the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or its
145	140		successor organization, and all shall fulfill the requirements for
146	141		licensure pursuant to the Oklahoma Licensed Perfusionists Act. All
147	142		members of the Board shall be residents of this state.
148	143		E. Upon expiration or vacancy of the term of a member, the
149	144		respective nominating authority may, as appropriate, submit to the
150	145		appointing authority a list of not less than three persons qualified
151	146		to serve on the Board to fill the expired term of their respective
152	147		member. Appointments may be made from these lists by the appointing
153	148		authority and additional lists may be provided by the respective
154	149		organizations if requested by the appointing authority.
155	150		F. It shall be a ground for removal from the Board if a member:
156	151		1. Does not have at the time of appointment the qualifications
157	152		required for appointment to the Board;
158	153		2. Does not maintain during service on the Board the
159	154		qualifications required for appointment to t he Board;
160	155		3. Violates a prohibition established pursuant to the Oklahoma
161	156		Licensed Perfusionists Act;
162	157		4. Cannot discharge the member 's term for a substantial part of
163	158		the term for which the member is appointed because of illness or
164	159		disability; or
165	160		5. Is absent from more than half of the regularly scheduled
166	161		board meetings that the member is eligible to attend during a
	162	+	calendar year unless the absence is excused by a majority vote of
	163	+	the Board.
