4040 An Act relating to state government; requiring
4141 legislators to attend racial sensitivity training;

4343 the Oklahoma House of Representatives and the
4444 Oklahoma State Senate; prescribing time limits for
4545 training; prescribing requirements for certain
4646 nonprofit entity; providing for codification; and

5454 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5555 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5656 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 491 of Title 74, unless there is
5757 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5858 A. Each member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives and the
5959 Oklahoma State Senate shall attend a racial sensitivity training
6060 program to be offered by a nonprofit organization selected for such
6161 purpose by mutual agreement of the Oklahoma House of Representatives
6262 and the Oklahoma State Senate. The training session shall occur not
6363 later than sixty (60) days after the General Election and not later

9090 than thirty (30) days after any Special Election to fill a vacancy
9191 in either chamber.
9292 B. The training required b y subsection A of this section shall
9393 be provided by a nonprofit entity, organized either under the laws
9494 of another state and having an affiliated entity in the state or
9595 organized under the laws of this state, having an exempt status
9696 pursuant to Section 501 (c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as
9797 amended, the principal purpose of which is to provide social
9898 services and support to women and girls, and which entity is able to
9999 provide the training without charge to the Oklahoma House of
100100 Representatives and the Oklahoma State Senate. The entity shall be
101101 required to have conducted a minimum of one hundred (100) hours of
102102 similar training sessions for other persons or organizations within
103103 the three-year period preceding the date as of which the training
104104 session is conducted for the chambers of the Legislature.
105105 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
