AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to insurance; prohibiting insurers 
from making certain policy benefit changes without a 
policyholder's written agreement; providing for 
codification; and providing an effective date . 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6 057.6 of Title 36, unless there 
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
Any insurer issuing health benefit plans in this state shall no t 
make material changes to a policy benefit, including the removal of 
a patient's provider from his or her network co ntract, at any time 
during which the policy is in force, except in the case of medical 
malpractice, billing and collections practices in violation of the 
provider agreement, or a violation of ethical standards as set forth 
by statute or by the provider's licensing body, without the express 
written agreement of the policyholder.

SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
