HOUSE BILL 2374 By: Davis
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to militia; providing payment of
funeral expenses for Oklahoma National Guard members
on state active duty; providing for codification; and
providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 78 of Title 44, unless ther e is
created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
If a member of the Oklahoma National Guard dies on state active
duty (SAD), the reasonable funeral expenses of the member, not
exceeding Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00), shall be paid by the
state in the manner directed by the Governor.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
