38	49		An Act relating to schools; defining term; allowing
39	50		social-emotional learning instruction for students;
40	51		authorizing the State Department of Education or
41	52		local school district to create and offer
42	53		instructional materials; providing for codification;

48	59		BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
49	60		SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
50	61		in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 11 -103.7a of Title 70, unless
51	62		there is created a duplication in nu mbering, reads as follows:
52	63		A. As used in this section, "social -emotional learning" is the
53	64		process through which children and adults understand and manage
54	65		emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for
55	66		others, establish and maintain po sitive relationships and make
56	67		responsible decisions.
57		-	B. Beginning in the 2022 -2023 school year, each school district
58		-	in the state may provide age-appropriate instruction of social -
59		-	emotional learning at the option of the local school district.
60		-	C. The State Department of Education may create or offer
61		-	accurate instructional materials for social -emotional learning

	95	+	B. Beginning in the 2022 -2023 school year, each school district

91	103		SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
