59 | 56 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: |

60 | 57 | | SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified |
---|
61 | 58 | | in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1801 of Title 22, unless there |
---|
62 | 59 | | is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: |

63 | 60 | | A. There is hereby created, until December 1, 202 6, the |
---|
64 | 61 | | Criminal Justice Coordinating Commission. The Commission shall be |
---|
65 | 62 | | composed of the following thirteen (13) members: |
---|
66 | 63 | | 1. The Attorney General for the State of Oklahoma or designee; |
---|
96 | 92 | | 3. The Director of the Department of Corrections or designee; |
---|
97 | 93 | | 4. The Director of the Pardon a nd Parole Board or designee; |
---|
98 | 94 | | 5. The President of the District Attorneys Council or designee; |
---|
99 | 95 | | 6. The Administrative Director of the Administrative Office of |
---|
100 | 96 | | the Courts or designee; |
---|
101 | 97 | | 7. The Executive Director of the Office of Juvenile Affairs or |

102 | 98 | | designee; |

103 | 99 | | 8. The Director of the Department of Human Services or |

115 | 111 | | B. The Cabinet Secretary of Public Safety and the Attorney |

116 | 112 | | General for the State of Oklahoma shall serve as co -chairs of the |

117 | 113 | | Commission. A majority of the members shall constitute a quorum for |
---|
146 | 141 | | Commission shall meet at least quarterly and at such other times as |

147 | 142 | | may be called by the chairs. |

148 | 143 | | C. Members of the Commission shall receive no compensation for |

149 | 144 | | serving on the Commission but shall receive travel reimbursement as |

150 | 145 | | follows: |

151 | 146 | | 1. State employees who are members of the Commission shall be |
---|
152 | 147 | | reimbursed for necessary travel expenses incurred in the performance |
---|
153 | 148 | | of their duties by their respective agencies in accordance with the |
---|
154 | 149 | | State Travel Reimbursement Act; and |
---|
155 | 150 | | 2. All other members of the Commission shall be reimbursed by |
---|
156 | 151 | | the Office of Management and Enterprise Services for necessary |
---|
157 | 152 | | travel expenses incurred in the performance of their duties in |
---|
158 | 153 | | accordance with the State Travel Reimbursement Act. |
---|
159 | 154 | | D. The meetings of the Commission shall be subject to the |
---|
160 | 155 | | Oklahoma Open Meeting Act. |
---|
161 | 156 | | E. The Criminal Justice Coordinating Commission shall study, |
---|
162 | 157 | | evaluate and make recommendations concerning the creation of |
---|
163 | 158 | | diversion programs in this state including, but not limited to, |
---|
164 | 159 | | alternative sentencing, su pervision and treatment options for |
---|
165 | 160 | | defendants who commit simple possession crimes. The Commission |
---|
166 | 161 | | shall also study, evaluate and make recommendations regarding all |
---|
167 | 162 | | criminal justice reform measures and legislation proposed or passed |
---|
168 | 163 | | including, but not lim ited to, the felony reclassification system . |
