4040 An Act relating to elections; imposing term limits on

4242 and the United States Senate; providing for

4545 inapplicable to periods of time for vacancy;

5252 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5353 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5454 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 17-151 of Title 26, unless there
5555 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5656 A. Effective November 1, 2022, the term of office for each
5757 member of the United States House of Representatives and the term of
5858 office for each member of the United States Senate representing the
5959 State of Oklahoma in the United States Congress shall be limited to
6060 a total of twelve (12) years.
6161 B. The limit prescribed by subsection A of this section shall
6262 be the cumulative total period of service in both the United States
6363 House of Representatives and the United States Senate.

9090 C. The provisions of this section shall not be applicable to
9191 any period of time that a person is elected to fill a vacancy in
9292 either the United States House of Representatives or the United
9393 States Senate.
9494 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
