102 | 102 | | 1. "Broadband service" means a high speed service connection to |
---|
103 | 103 | | the public Internet capable of supporting, in at least one |
---|
104 | 104 | | direction, a speed in excess of 200 kilobits per second ( Kbps) to |
---|
105 | 105 | | the network demarcation poi nt at the subscriber 's premises; |
---|
106 | 106 | | 2. "Office" means the State Broadband Coordinator 's Office; |
---|
107 | 107 | | 3. "Economic unit" means all adult individuals contributing to |
---|
108 | 108 | | and sharing in the income and expenses of a household ; |
---|
109 | 109 | | 4. "Family" or "household" means any individual or group of |
---|
110 | 110 | | individuals who live tog ether at the same address as one economic |
---|
111 | 111 | | unit; and |
---|
112 | 112 | | 5. "Federal poverty level " means the poverty guidelines updated |
---|
113 | 113 | | periodically in the Federal Register by the U.S. Department of |

114 | 114 | | Health and Human Services. These guidelines set poverty levels by |

203 | 203 | | the federal Lifeline program or any other state Internet service |

204 | 204 | | subsidy program shall n ot be eligible to participate in the Oklahoma |

205 | 205 | | Low Income Broadband Assistance Program if they elect to remain |
---|
206 | 206 | | enrolled in the aforementioned programs . |

245 | 245 | | Office shall remit, through the local administrative agencies, to |

246 | 246 | | the broadband service provider that portion of the fa mily's bill |
---|
247 | 247 | | that is not the responsibility of the family. For purposes of this |
---|
248 | 248 | | section, payment is due on the date specified on the family 's bill. |
---|
249 | 249 | | The Office, Oklahoma Tax Commission, and local administrative |
---|
250 | 250 | | agencies shall adopt processes that provide f or the timely payment |
---|
251 | 251 | | required by this section. |
---|
252 | 252 | | B. Each family that receives a credit for broadband service |
---|
253 | 253 | | under subsection B of Section 5 of this act is responsible for all |
---|
254 | 254 | | actual charges for broadband service in excess of the credit |
---|
255 | 255 | | provided under subsection B of Section 5 of this act. The Office |
---|
256 | 256 | | may terminate a program participant 's eligibility for the credit |
---|
257 | 257 | | available under subsection B of Section 5 of this act upon |
---|
258 | 258 | | notification by the broadband serv ice provider that the |
---|
259 | 259 | | participant's monthly service payment is more than forty-five (45) |
---|
260 | 260 | | days past due. |
