40	40	An Act relating to elections; requiring certain
41	41	percentage of vote for certain elections to be valid;
42	42	providing for codificatio n; providing exceptions; and

48	48	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
49	49	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
50	50	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 7-139 of Title 26, unless there
51	51	is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follow s:
52	52	Except for elections held co ncurrently with the dates provided
53	53	in Sections 1-101, 1-102, 1-103, 20-101, and 13A-103 of Title 26,
54	54	and Section 16-103 of Title 11, any election held by any county,
55	55	school district, techn ology center school district, municip ality,
56	56	fire protection district, or other political subdivision authorized
57	57	to call elections shall not be valid unless forty percent (40%) of
58	58	active registered voters eligible to vote in t he election, as of
59	59	thirty (30) days prior to the date of the election, vote at the
60	60	election.
