4040 An Act relating to prisons and reformato ries;

5252 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5353 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5454 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 528.9 of Title 57, unless there
5555 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5656 A. The Department of Corrections shall provide minimum
5757 administrative staff sufficient to ensure continuous and appropriate
5858 supervision of all correctional officers at all facilities of the
5959 Department according to the profile of each individual facility .
6060 When establishing the administrative staff to correctional officer
6161 ratio, the Department shall consider the follo wing:
6262 1. Levels of security and classifications of inmates at each

9090 2. The number of correcti onal officers assigned to each
9191 facility; and
9292 3. Any other considerations that would require additional
9393 administrative staff at each facility.
9494 B. Beginning November 1, 2022, the Department shall be required
9595 to have a minimum ratio of one administrative staff employee to
9696 every twenty correctional officers for each facility.
9797 C. The Department shall publish on the homepage of its Internet
9898 website a report listing each ratio of administrative staff to
9999 correctional officers for every facility of the Department.
100100 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
