40	40	An Act relating to prisons and reformato ries;
41	41	directing the Department of Corrections to provide
42	42	minimum ratio of administrative staff at facilities;
43	43	providing consideration s when determining ratios;
44	44	directing the Department to post ratios on the
45	45	homepage of its website; providing for codification;

52	52	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
53	53	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
54	54	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 528.9 of Title 57, unless there
55	55	is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
56	56	A. The Department of Corrections shall provide minimum
57	57	administrative staff sufficient to ensure continuous and appropriate
58	58	supervision of all correctional officers at all facilities of the
59	59	Department according to the profile of each individual facility .
60	60	When establishing the administrative staff to correctional officer
61	61	ratio, the Department shall consider the follo wing:
62	62	1. Levels of security and classifications of inmates at each
63	63	facility;

90	90	2. The number of correcti onal officers assigned to each
91	91	facility; and
92	92	3. Any other considerations that would require additional
93	93	administrative staff at each facility.
94	94	B. Beginning November 1, 2022, the Department shall be required
95	95	to have a minimum ratio of one administrative staff employee to
96	96	every twenty correctional officers for each facility.
97	97	C. The Department shall publish on the homepage of its Internet
98	98	website a report listing each ratio of administrative staff to
99	99	correctional officers for every facility of the Department.
100	100	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
