5552 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5653 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5754 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 528.9 of Title 57, unless there
5855 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5956 A. The Department of Corrections shall provide minimum
6057 correctional officer staffing sufficient to ensure continuous
6158 appropriate supervision of inmates at all facilities of the
6259 Department according to the profile of each individual facility .
6360 When establishing the correctional officer-to-inmate ratio, the
6461 Department shall consider the follo wing:
6562 1. Level of security at each facility;

93-2. Classification of inmates housed at each facility;
9490 3. Layout and configuration of each facility;
9591 4. Perimeter or physical security of each facility;
9692 5. The ability to effectively classify and separate categories
9793 of inmates at each facility; and
9894 6. Any other considerations that would require additional
9995 correctional officer staffing at each facility.
10096 B. Beginning November 1, 2022, the Department shall be required
10197 to have a minimum ratio of one (1) correctional officer for every
10298 five (5) inmates for each facility.
10399 C. The Department shall publish on the homepage of its Internet
104100 website a report listing each ratio of correctional officers to
105101 inmates for every facility of the Department.
106102 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
