4040 An Act relating to state government; creating the
4141 Oklahoma Holocaust Commissio n; providing membership;

4444 requirements; providing for travel reimbursement;

5252 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5353 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5454 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 11100 of Title 74, unless there
5555 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5656 A. There is hereby created the Oklahoma Holocaust Commission.
5757 The Commission shall be composed of nine (9) members:
5858 1. Three appointed by the Governor ;
5959 2. Three appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate;

6161 3. Three appointed by the Speaker of the House of

8989 B. The Governor shall appoint the chair of the Commission from
9090 within the membership of the Commission. Two-thirds of the members
9191 shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of conducting business.
9292 The Commission shall meet at lea st quarterly and at such other times
9393 as may be called by the chair.
9494 C. Members of the Commission shall receive no compensation for
9595 serving on the Commission but shall receive travel reimbursement for
9696 necessary travel expenses incurred in the performance o f their
9797 duties by their respective agencies in accordance with the State
9898 Travel Reimbursement Act.
9999 D. The duties and responsibilities of the Oklahoma Holocaust
100100 Commission are as follows:
101101 1. Providing advice and assistance to public and private
102102 primary schools, secondary schools, and institutions of higher
103103 education in the state regarding antisemitism and the Holocaust;
104104 2. Meeting with representatives of public and private
105105 organizations to provide information on and assist in efforts of the
106106 organizations to plan, create, and implement antisemitism awareness
107107 programs and Holocaust recognition programs or events; and
108108 3. Annually planning and organizing a Holocaust remembrance
109109 event to educate the public of the Jewish Holocaust.
110110 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
