32 | 56 | SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified | |
33 | 57 | in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1730 of Title 70, unless there | |
34 | 58 | is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: | |

36 | 59 | A. Beginning with the 2022 -2023 school year, a person who is | |
37 | 60 | certified to teach by the State Board of Education and hired or | |
38 | 61 | employed as a teacher by the Oklahoma School for the Deaf or | |
39 | 62 | Oklahoma School for the Blind shall enter into an employment | |
40 | 63 | contract which begins on August 1 and ends on July 31 of the | |

56 | 104 | absent teacher. The amount of com pensation shall be determined by | |
57 | 105 | dividing the daily rate of a certified substitute teacher by the | |
58 | 106 | number of class periods or hours covered by the teacher. | |

60 | 107 | SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2022. | |

62 | 108 | SECTION 3. It being immediately n ecessary for the preservation | |
63 | 109 | of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby | |
64 | 110 | declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and | |
