4040 An Act relating to daylight saving time; establishing
4141 standard time in this state; specifying effect on
4242 certain actions; exempting Oklahoma from the federal
4343 daylight saving time provision; author izing future
4444 action; providing for codification; and providing an
4545 effective date.

5050 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
5151 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
5252 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 70 of Tit le 25, unless there is
5353 created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
5454 A. The standard time in Oklahoma shall be known as Central
5555 Standard Time.
5656 B. This section shall not be construed to affe ct the standard
5757 time established by United States law gov erning the movements of
5858 common carriers engaged in interstate commerce or the time for
5959 performance of an act by an officer or department of the United
6060 States, as established by a statute, lawful orde r, rule or
6161 regulation of the United States or an agency h ereof.

8888 C. As authorized by the Uniform Time Act of 1966 , as amended,
8989 and notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary by
9090 the United States government relating to adoption of daylight saving
9191 time by all of the st ates, the State of Oklahoma e lects to reject
9292 such time and elects to continue in force the terms of subsection A
9393 of this section relating to standard time in Oklahoma.
9494 D. The rejection of daylight saving time as provided for in
9595 this section may be changed by future legislative action .
9696 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
