40	40	An Act relating to daylight saving time; establishing
41	41	standard time in this state; specifying effect on
42	42	certain actions; exempting Oklahoma from the federal
43	43	daylight saving time provision; author izing future
44	44	action; providing for codification; and providing an
45	45	effective date.

50	50	BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
51	51	SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
52	52	in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 70 of Tit le 25, unless there is
53	53	created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
54	54	A. The standard time in Oklahoma shall be known as Central
55	55	Standard Time.
56	56	B. This section shall not be construed to affe ct the standard
57	57	time established by United States law gov erning the movements of
58	58	common carriers engaged in interstate commerce or the time for
59	59	performance of an act by an officer or department of the United
60	60	States, as established by a statute, lawful orde r, rule or
61	61	regulation of the United States or an agency h ereof.

88	88	C. As authorized by the Uniform Time Act of 1966 , as amended,
89	89	and notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary by
90	90	the United States government relating to adoption of daylight saving
91	91	time by all of the st ates, the State of Oklahoma e lects to reject
92	92	such time and elects to continue in force the terms of subsection A
93	93	of this section relating to standard time in Oklahoma.
94	94	D. The rejection of daylight saving time as provided for in
95	95	this section may be changed by future legislative action .
96	96	SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
