53	52		BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESEN TATIVES AND THE SENATE OF THE
54	53		2ND SESSION OF THE 58TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
55	54		SECTION 1. The Secretary of State shall refer to the people for
56	55		their approval or rejection, as and in the manner provided by la w,
57	56		the following proposed amendment to Section 1 of Article III of the
58	57		Oklahoma Constitution to read as follows:
59	58		Section 1. Subject to such exceptions as th e Legislature may
60	59		prescribe, all only citizens of the United States , over the age of
61	60		eighteen (18) years, who are bona fide residents of this state, are
62	61		qualified electors of this state , who upon providing valid
63	62		identification issued by the United States, the State of Oklahom a,
64	63		or the government of a federally recognized Indian tribe or nation ,

100	98		THE GIST OF THE PROPOSITION IS AS FOLLOWS:
101	99		This measure amends Section 1 of Article 3 of the Oklahoma
102	100		Constitution. It clarifies that only citizens of the United
103	101		States with a valid identifi cation are qualified to vote in this
104	102		state.
