SENATE BILL NO. 1112 By: Pemberton and Newhouse of
the Senate
and
Dills of the House
An Act relating to student transfers; amending 70
O.S. 2021, Section 8-113, which relates to the
transfer of a student whose parent or legal guardian
is a teacher; allowing the transfer of a student
whose parent or legal guardian is a support employee;
providing an effective date ; and declaring an
emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 70 O.S. 20 21, Section 8-113, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 8-113. A student shall be allowed to transfer to a
school district in which the parent or legal guardian of the student
is employed as a teacher, as defined in Section 1 -116 of this title,
or as a support employee, as defined by Section 6 -101.40 of this
title.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effe ctive July 1, 2022.
SECTION 3. It being immediately n ecessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health , or safety, an emergency is hereby

declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
