AMENDATORY 21 O.S. 2021, Section 650.8, is amended to read as follows: Section 650.8. A. Every person who, without justifiable or excusable cause, knowingly commits any assault, batter y or assault and battery upon the person of an employee of a facility ma intained by the Department of Human Services, a facility mainta ined by a private contractor pursuant to a contract with the Depar tment of Human Services, or upon the person of an employee of a facilit y maintained by the Office of Juvenile Affairs, a facility main tained by a private contractor pursuant to a contract with the Office of Juvenile Affairs primarily for delinquent children, a juvenile detention center, or a juvenile bureau, while the employe e is in the SENATE FLOOR VERSION - SB1136 SFLR Page 2 (Bold face denotes Committee Amendments) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 performance of his duties, shall , upon conviction, thereof be guilty of a felony.
