AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to labor; amending 40 O.S. 201 1, 
Section 197.2, which relates to minimu m wage; setting 
dates and amounts to increase minim um wage; and 
providing an effective date . 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     40 O.S. 20 11, Section 197.2, is 
amended to read as follows: 
Section 197.2. It shall be unlawful to em ploy workers in any 
industry or occupation within the State of Oklahoma under conditions 
of labor detrimental to their health or morals and it shall be 
unlawful to employ workers in any industry within the State of 
Oklahoma at wages which are not adequate for their maintenance.  
Except as otherwise provided in the Oklahoma Minimum Wage Act, no 
employer within the State of Oklahoma shall pay any employee a wage 
of less than the current federal minimum wage f or all hours worked.  
Notwithstanding the current f ederal minimum wage, beginning January 
2022, no employer within the State of Oklahoma shall pay any 
employee a wage of less than Eight Dollars and twenty -five cents

($8.25) per hour; beginning January 202 3, no employer within the 
State of Oklahoma shall pa y any employee a wage of less than Nine 
Dollars and twenty-five cents ($9.25) per hour; and beginning 
January 2024, no employer within the State of Oklahoma shall p ay any 
employee a wage of less than Ten D ollars ($10.00) per hour. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 20 21.
